Why did you become a hairstylist?

I’ve always wanted to do something creative. Originally I wanted to be a chef, but realized that I loved women and wanted to work with hair. I feel like the luckiest man in the world, I meet 30-40 people every day. My main thing is to make women smile, what a great job!

What is your philosophy on beauty?

A lot of people think beauty is a physical thing, but I believe beauty has to come from the inside. Always be passionate about who you are, and you will have a beautiful life rich with experiences.

How do you spend your free time?

I enjoy snowboarding and I play soccer with a team. I really love people! I’ve all about exchanging experiences and I’m learning about culture, technology, travel and art—it’s so New York!

You often style fashion shows. How does that inform your work at Red Market?

On the runway, you have maybe five minutes per model. You work fast and make small changes to individualize the look. A little gel here, a tuck behind the ears there, some teasing here. I’ll give Red Market clients tips on how to include a runway style to their routine. Everything is easy if a professional shows you how to do it! We’re like doctors, we show clients how to take care of themselves.
